Diversity

At LABL, we are passionate about basketball.  We love the game.  The energy.  The speed.  The developing skill.  The raw talent. From the last ten-seconds three pointer that wins the game to the losing team who gave a good fight.

We provide a valuable service to the amateur basketball community - supplying licensed and qualified officials to universities, schools, colleges as well as Junior National League in and around London.

As a league, we have our own players, our own teams and deal with many local London basketball clubs.  We liaise closely with over forty basketball officials whom are currently registered with us, and continue to have strong links with Basketball England.

It's clear we are already a diverse community.  Different teams from many parts of London, supplying officials to clubs of varying standards, who have players from different backgrounds being officiated by officials from a plethora of different countries.  We are not the same, and yet we have one thing in common: the love of basketball.

With this in mind, we take diversity in a more wider sense very seriously.  As a league responsible for officiating many games of younger (and older) age groups, we have to set a standard.  We therefore do not tolerate any form of negative behaviour which seeks to demoralise or insult another person (whether the other person is part of this league or not) based on their background or simply for who they are.

We will never tolerate negative behaviours towards the following:

1) Gender
2) Age;
3) Religion;
4) Ethnicity;
5) Sexuality;
6) Disability or requirement(s) of special needs;
7) Socio-economic background;
8) Schooling
9) Whether or not someone is married or not;
10) Whether someone has children or not;
11) The way someone looks.

The above is not an exhaustive list but merely presents a starting point for areas of emphasis.
